I met my wife, Judi, while a faculty member of the University of Texas Math Department. She was the administrative assistant of the famous physicist, John Wheeler. This year we celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are planning a trip to Athens.
I am very fortunate to be in a 'thought leadership' position in IBM. My official title, Distinguished Engineer is an executive position held by about 300 of about 1500,000 technical staff members. Hence, as long as I perform I am immune from layoffs. I am even more fortunate that the work I am doing, developing leading-edge business improvement measures and practices for software and system development, is fully engaging.
