I believe in the importance of establishing learning communities in schools, which would allow for the exchange of shared values, information, techniques and learning between teachers, teachers and students and students and students. These communities would extend classroom practice into the community in the form of action; bringing community personnel into the school to enhance the curriculum and learning tasks for students; or engaging students, teachers, and administrators in learning about their communities.
