Makoto Yamada received the Ph.D. degree in statistical science from The Institute of Statistical Mathematics (ISM, SOKENDAI), Tokyo, in 2010. Currently, he is an assistant professor at Bioinformatics center, Kyoto University. Before joining Kyoto University, he was a research scientist at Yahoo Labs. His research interests include machine learning for high-dimensional data processing and its application to bioinformatics, signal processing, and computer vision.
