Every year many lives perish and property lost in the flood, landslides, lightening bolt, fire, accidents and epidemics. Because Nepal lies in the main fault line, created by pushing of Indian plate towards China, many studies point towards a big earthquake of magnitude 8 and above in waiting. Glaciers are retreating and many lakes have formed in the Himalayas due to increase in temperature. The last two disasters are not so frequent, but the magnitude and scale of destruction from them is unimaginable.
