She began work in an environmental organization, Klub Indonesia Hijau (KIH) in 1992, focusing on environmental education and conservation, and progressed through various environmental and development organizations throughout Indonesia, including as a member of National Committee for the environmental advocacy movement Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI). Served as the General Secretary of the Indonesian Environmental Education Network (JPL/IEEN) for 6 years, she sharpened effectiveness of environmental education and sustainable development.
