Scottz worked as a research biologist at the Institute of Molecular Cell and Biology, A*STAR and was instrumental in uncovering key findings in the area of transgenic animals, cancer and viral research. He developed a detection kit to screen for drugs that could block infection of the SARS Coronavirus and has since published several scientific research publications in international journals.
