Born and brought up Tamil Nadu India. Studied Medicine in CMC and obtained MD from Manipal in 1990. Moved to the UK in 1993. MPH from Birmingham, M.Phil and PhD from Cambridge. Works as a Consultant in Public Health Medicine in the English NHS with an academic job as an Associate Clinical Lecturer at Cambridge University. Lives in Colchester.
