During my M.Sc. degree at Cancer Genomics and Developmental Biology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, internships in the labs of Dr. Hans Clevers and Dr. Albert Heck made it clear that I wanted to continue in research.
I completed my Ph.D. in the lab of Dr. John Dick in Toronto, working on the identification of factors that regulate human hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal. My Ph.D. studies are also supervised by Dr. Maarten van Lohuizen at the University of Amsterdam, where I graduated cum laude.
