I am active in the science education community. I serve on the Board of Directors for the National Science Teachers Association as the NSTA Middle Level Science Teaching Division Director (2012-2015), am President of the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association (2013-2015), and am the Southeastern Pennsylvania Representative to the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association (2009-present).
