I enjoy devising probabilistic machine learning algorithms to solve challenging problems in sustainability (e.g. traffic, water, public safety), healthcare, system health monitoring, and IoT (Internet of Things). I'm passionate about data science for social good which has influenced the choice of my research projects.
Real world problems cannot escape incompleteness, heterogeneity, uncertainty, and dynamism. My research interests include information extraction, knowledge representation and discovery from heterogeneous observations, reasoning under uncertainty by leveraging (a) complementary nature of citizen and machine observations, and (b) knowledge bases (e.g., ConceptNet) on the web....
