Prashant (Prashanth) / (Prashaanth)(Devanagari: 爐爛爐萎ざ爐鉦え爛爐 (Marathi Konkani Hindi ) is a common boys name faith in India and Nepal. It is derived from the word "shanth" which means quiet, or tranquil. There are two theories as to the origin of the name. The first is simply that adding "pra" creates a superlative of "shanth", so it can be thought of as meaning "Great Peace" (cf. Chinese Taiping). The other is that it is a combination of two words: "Param" + "Shanth" = Prashanth, ( meaning very quiet ).
