You seemed like a regular dude. I can't say as to whether or not you're attractive, but you look like anyone I'd expect to see with an attractive girl.
You should figure out how to express yourself openly and take risks. I remember at 17 I was too shy for my own good. It has not paid off!
Try getting involved with something that will expect you to step out of your comfort zone. For me, it's bagpipes. Yep. Since I've taken up bagpipes, I've been the center of attention at some pretty fancy places, and even been on TV to play for St. Patrick's Day, and when you do something like that, you're not so nervous about expressing yourself around other people anymore.
