Ravi Shankar is a poet who founded one of the world’s oldest electronic journals of the arts, Drunken Boat. He currently teaches for the New York Writers Workshop, an alliance of published authors and professional writers. Ravi has published or edited ten books and chapbooks of poetry, including the 2010 National Poetry Review Prize winner, Deepening Groove. He is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Jentel Foundation and the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. He was the longtime chairman of the Connecticut Young Writers Trust.
