Excavators are heavy construction equipment that consist of a boom, bucket, and cab on a rotating platform. All functions are accomplished through hydraulic fluid. Their design evolved from steam shovels. Key manufacturers include JCB India, BEML, L&T Case, L&T Komatsu, and Ingersoll-Rand India. Excavators come in different types and are used for digging, material handling, forestry work, grading, lifting pipes, mining, dredging, and driving piles. They are commonly used in construction, mining, quarries, and other heavy industrial projects.

Segmentation and target  20T – construction , infrastructure.  20T up to 33T -are mainly used in quarries, sand pits and light- duty mining applications.  33T to 50T -range of excavators are primarily deployed in mining, limestone, granite and marble quarries and on large hydro electric power generation projects.  50T -machines are used for large mines.
