About
I graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla, (now Missouri S&T) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I spent several years working in manufacturing automation/control systems, primarily on the HMI (Human-machine interface) side. Much of this time was spent pulling various data out of control systems for reporting and analysis, which led to me finally ‘crossing the fence’ into IT full time. During my time in automation, I’ve made beer, processed corn, killed cows, made cement, cleaned wastewater, tracked hazardous waste, loaded and unloaded too many chemicals to count on/off ships and rail cars, and tracked the machinery that makes the 7.62mm NATO round for the M16 Assault Rifl
