The group, most commonly known as RCC, was founded by Mr. Renalie dela Cruz Aquino on August 08, 1997. It was originally called Regina Coeli Children's Choir which is an all-girls choir whose first batch of members were mostly grade 5 & 6 (from Rosario Elementary School). Along the process of recruitment, more younger girls (grades 3 and 4) joined.
The group used to sing during Saturday mass scheduled at 5:00-6:00 P.M. They started singing in two voices (melody and second voice). As time passed by, the group realized that soon enough, these children members will grow up, thus, the group was renamed Regina Coeli Choir.
