About the Institution C.U.Shah College of Engineering & Technology, Wadhwan City, established in 1997, situated on scenic banks of the river Bhogao at a distance of about 6 km from Surendranagar, is one of the most prestigious Colleges run by the Wardhman Bharti Trust. This College has been harvesting invaluable advantages of its location. Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Bhavnagar industrial belts are situated hardly at a distance of less than 140 km from the College. Surendranagar, Wadhwan, and Joravarnagar, the economically, socially and educationally developed cities, are located adjacent to each other. There are two industrial estates, GIDC, Wadhwan and Udyog nagar, Surendranagar. This belt has over 1000 industries from sectors like chemical, pharmaceutical, bearings manufactures, machine tools, etc. The College has been playing a key role not only in turning the Surendranagar District as one of the most prominent districts in the State, economically and educationally as well, but also has been functioning as a wonderful resource for trained technical manpower to the country. About the Trust The Wardhman Bharti Trust, Wadhwan City, established in 1969, is a charitable Trust. The Trust is fully devoted to the noble cause of spreading education in the region. The Trusts objective is to impart quality education from undergraduate-to- post-graduate levels in Arts, Science, Commerce, Pharmacy, Law, Medicine, Technical, Physical education, vocational training, etc. The Trust at present runs 16 educational institutions Mission Education is an engine of economy. Basic Academic Philosophy of the Institution We encourage all the students to meet their academic goals and to work hard to maximize their academic potential. Quality Policy The focus is on Quality oriented education and training inculcating such attributes as mental skills, numerical skills, problem handling skills, etc., in commensurate with respective discipline like Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, etc. Undergraduate Programmes Run by the Institution The College at present runs the following AICTE approved six programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering awarded by the Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad Sn. The College has expert and experienced faculty in Mechanical Engineering, excellently supported by experts from reputed big industrial houses and renowned academicians as visiting faculty. The strong features of the College are: e- Library with latest literature, specious and well-equipped laboratories (CNC milling and a robot), and workshop, broad-band internet with Wi-Fi facility to all students, boys/girls hostels, etc. Round the year, faculty and students are involved in organizing various events including national conferences/workshops/seminars. The College has close interaction with industry and students are exposed to industrial world. The Training & Placement Cell and Alumni Association are the strong organs of the College. Seminar Semester III & IV Dissertation Phase Eligibility Criteria The eligibility criteria for admission to the said Program are: Candidate must have passed Bachelor of Engineering / Technology from a recognized university with minimum 55 % marks (or equivalent cumulative grade point index) in the discipline of Mechanical, Production or Mechatronics Engineering. Selection Procedure Selection is purely on merit basis. Merit will be decided as follows : GATE Candidates:- Gate Percentile Non GATE Candidates :- BE Marks, written one hour objective Test. In case of a tie, the merit will be decided in the order of BE degree marks, XII standard marks, X standard marks, date of birth and toss. No separate call letters will be mailed to the candidates. They must strictly adhere to the Important Dates and appear for Test / Admission as the case may be. Tuition Fees Tuition fees, as approved by the competent authority per candidate per year will be charged as given below Tuition fees :- Rs. 60,000/- The fees once paid is not refundable, if a student does not report after admission or leaves after commencement of the term. If admission is confirmed, the concerned candidate is required to pay Rs. 5,000/- on the same day as a token of acceptance of admission which is non-refundable. This amount will be adjusted subsequently with the remaining fees. Teaching Assistantship A few selected candidates may be offered teaching assistantship depending on requirements up to Rs 5000/- per month.
