The crew team recently purchased a new two-person shell that has been used for practice. Upcoming events include the SIRA Championship Regatta in April and the team's 10th anniversary dinner and home regatta on April 7th. The newsletter also provides updates on new sponsors and encourages parent involvement in the Parent Crew Association.

- 1. CALENDAR of EVENTS New Pair With the support of alumni donors, the team recently expanded its fleet of boats with the purchase of a two-person shell from UTC Rowing. The pair is a beautiful addition and has already been put to use during practice. Issue IV & V March & April 2012 A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER April 21-22 SIRA The team will travel to Oak Ridge, TN for The Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Associations Championship Regatta April 7 10th Year Anniversary Dinner Outdoor on the Whitetop at the Boathouse Restaurant Join the team and alumni as we celebrate the ten year history of VCU Crew. Hosted at the same site as the regatta, festivities begin at 5:00pm with a cocktail mixer, followed by a cook-out style dinner. The fundraising dinner is $25 per person and will include raffles, good food, and good times. Please dress in formal attire (dinner jackets for men and dresses for women). April 7 Fourth Annual Rocketts Landing Collegiate Regatta, 4708 E. Old Main St. Richmond, VA For our home regatta, teams from GMU, JMU, ODU, U of R, VCU, and William & Mary will take to the waters for 2000 meter sprints on the James. Races begin at 9:30am and wrap up at 2pm. Immediately following the races there will be a family and friends Learn to Row session for anyone interested. Be sure to bring workout clothes and experience how everything works in crew. April, 01/2009 April, 04/2009 ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas 09001 Spring Training Cocoa Beach, FL Although it had a rainy start, the team spent a memorable seven days in Florida for Spring Break. Aside from honing in on technique during two-a-day practices at 7am and 2pm, the team frequented other area attractions such as Ron Jons Surf Shop, Karaoke Night at Ice Cream Junction, and of course the beautiful beach. Occoquan Sprints Fairfax Station, VA The team participated in the first regatta of the season this past Sunday, April 1st.
