The reason I do what I do is because I was a struggling software sales person who had no real help from marketing. I would read the collateral from marketing and it would go in one ear and out of the other. Gone in less than ten seconds.
It made me feel stupid, ignorant and lacking. I remember how that felt. I felt naked, alone and vulnerable. I had to generate my own prospects and then close them. Few leads ever came from marketing. Often I would just wing it and hope for the best.
