The Marlow Sports Club is a community charity and sports club that was founded in 1829. It currently offers a variety of sports to 1400 children per week and has 2000 total participants. It aims to be inclusive and accessible to all. The club recently secured its facilities and land for community use through fundraising and now aims to upgrade its clubhouse and facilities to better serve more members of the community into the future.

Our heritage originated in 1829 Only comprehensive sports club in Marlow Sports offered include: Cricket; Tennis; Hockey; Running; Junior Football; Cycling; Softball and Netball Quality sports facilities in the heart of town Open club available to all who love sport Strong links with the local schools. Sir William Borlase School is an official section. So 100s of pupils use the facilities Our patrons: Sir Steve Redgrave Sir Clive Woodward Andrew Strauss Alex Danson
From this.. Ground put up for sale by previous owners in 2006 expectation of housing development Participation in long term decline only 450 members Team came up with bold plan for save the club for the community legal challenge to halt the sale borrow money to purchase ground Charitable status established Investment in new all-weather pitch
To this. Since the future was secured, existing sports sections hockey, tennis and cricket have increased their increased membership significantly Has widened its reach into the community with four new sections: Junior Football, Marlow Riders, Marlow Softball and Marlow Netball and others being considered The membership is now up to around 2,000 Cost of securing the land and building the All-weather pitch was 贈1.2 million. Now after just 3 years, 贈500,000 paid off With the continuing support of the membership and town organisations, it is planned to have the balance paid within 4 years and on to even better things!

An upgraded Clubhouse TO FROM Facility that has H&S issues Due to age, energy efficiencies poor Changing facilities inadequate Poor quality accommodation for sub-tenants Lounge in need of a major refurbishment Catering equipment dated Limited amenities for broader community Restricted space for sports development Have a building that is of the highest safety standards Ensure the new building has excellent green credentials Appropriate changing facilities Offer more suitable space to the sub-tenants Have a Lounge that is significantly more welcoming Catering equipment of a suitable standard Improve access for wheelchairs and more space for community activities Space available gone from original 5 acres, to now 20 acres to allow increased usage
The next part of the journey.. Phase 3 i) The enhancement of the Pavilions facilities and develop the extra land
The plan will ensure that Marlow Sports Club can: Grow to offer sport to 3,000 participants per week, open to all, irrespective of age, background, disability be a place where all ages learn and enjoy sport together preserve Marlows beautiful green space for future generations and create a sanctuary away from home, office and school create vibrant centre for community to meet and socialise, get and stay fit and enjoy life promote physical and emotional growth, well-being and self-belief to fulfil individual potential

The Clubs Aspirations The vision of the Club meets the vision of the Town in terms of the use of this area for recreation and retention of the green corridor. Have a building that is of the highest safety standards Ensure the new building has excellent green credentials Appropriate changing facilities Have a Lounge that is significantly more welcoming Catering equipment of a suitable standard Improve access for wheelchairs More space for community activities Maximise the use of the 20 acres for leisure pursuits A safe environment for all activities
