This document outlines a 5-day lesson plan for an introductory painting class at a rural high school. On the first day, the teacher will show impressionist paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, and Renoir and have students write about Van Gogh's work. On the second day, students will discuss whether Monet's and Renoir's works are considered art. Days 2-5 will have students use thin paint brushes or Q-tips to create their own impressionist paintings in the style of Monet and Renoir.
