INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
1. This assignment contains SEVEN (7) question that is set in the language of the printed module
for the course. Answer FIVE (5) questions only.
2. Answer in English.
3. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the myVLE for
preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point
Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing.
4. Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. Do not copy the
assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within
the approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of
your assignment.
5. You must submit your assignment TO YOUR FACE-TO-FACE TUTOR. You are advised to
keep a copy of your submitted assignment for personal reference.
6. Your assignment must be submitted between 10th - 12th July 2015 or Tutorial 4. Submission
after 12th July 2015 or Tutorial 4 will NOT be accepted.
7. Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another person’s
assignment. You should also not plagiarise another person’s work as your own.
8. Please take note that PENALTY will be imposed on late submission of assignment as specified
in the Registrar’s Office circular 6/2012 (Refer to Registrar’s Announcement in myVLE).

EVALUATION
This assignment accounts for 50% of the total marks for the course and shall be assessed
based on the Rubrics or Answer Scheme attached.
You would be given feedback on the assignment before the Final Semester Examination
commences.

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
Written assessment (there are seven questions in this assignment, answer FIVE questions
ONLY. 10 mark each. Each essay must contain approximately 500 words).
1. The rising levels of congestion and air pollution found in most of the world cities is
due to the rapidly increasing number of private cars in use. Do you think the use of
public transport can encourage people to use their car less? Discuss possible ways to
encourage public to use the public transport.
2. Today our community is composed of people of diverse backgrounds. Write an essay
explaining how people of diverse backgrounds can get along better.
3. Recently in the media, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin talked
about the use of textbooks in electronic form in schools in order to prepare Malaysian
students for the 21st century. Do you think Malaysia is ready to change students’
textbooks to electronic medium? State your opinions.
4. Do you think technology is making communication easier in today’s world? Discuss.
5. Based on your life experiences, do share what is the most memorable moment you
have ever faced? Write your story.
6. Why is tolerance in community of utmost important in today’s world? Use specific
reasons and examples to support your answer
7. For some states in Malaysia, namely Malacca, Penang, and Kedah, tourism is
important as a source of revenue, but its disadvantages should not be overlooked.
What are some of the problems in tourism?
