https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/profile-photo-BabalwaSilangwe1-48x48.jpg?cb=1706646666 I am a third-year student in the Bachelor of Education Senior Phase and FET with a double major in English and History. As a teacher, I am confident that I can make a positive impact on my students' lives via literature, especially African literature. Reading a text written by an African would, in my opinion, give students a sense of pride in themselves because, for the most part, the texts are relatable. When students feel heard, respected, and noticed, they learn more effectively. As one of the 21st century abilities required in the 4IR, critical thinking is a skill that learners can develop through literature. It is crucial to have this capacity in today's world.
