This presentation will show how Nova Language Solutions has used memoQ to prepare a project in which the client provides the files and translation memories in Trados 2007 format (TTX and TMW respectively). It is a project where the files are updated on a regular basis, so it is usual to have files with +10.000 words but only 200 new to translate. Until 2015 the CAT Tool we used with that project was SDL Studio 2014, but there were too many limitations with automated processes and filter configurations, as well as some fatal errors with the final TTX. With memoQ we have been able to automate most of the processes using scripts and templates. In the presentation we will talk firstly of the project itself to understand correctly the challenges and issues that exist, secondly we will see all the templates and scripts created to automate the file preparation with memoQ, and finally we will see some statistics of the improvements achieved. ]]>

LSPs are acknowledging that they need to be adaptive and responsive to change, but most struggle to know where to start or where to focus. Nova Language Services has taken a proactive approach to the changing needs of the market through the implementation of specialized MT domains, the creation of a dedicated R&D department and language technology partnerships. Having embarked on processes that have led to important changes in the companys traditional business model, Nova has bred innovations in pricing strategies and methods to access the new digital market. In this session we will showcase our experiences, share our challenges and leave plenty of room for discussion and questions at the end of our presentation.]]>

Is translation a commodity? Certainly not for strictly regulated, high-risk scientific and technical sectors such as the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Nonetheless, for Internet-based businesses seeking viable solutions to accessing global markets, translations are more like a utility. When Nova Language Services received a proposal to translate over 5 million words into 3 different languages - within a month and with practically no budget - the initial response was absolutely impossible! But soon after, a disruptive innovation process led to important changes in the business model, processes, and operations, resulting in creative yet effective solutions.]]>

The future LSP: Partnering for innovation In today's competitive market, LSPs face multiple challenges for future growth. The industry is changing in giant leaps and LSPs are reinventing themselves as Language Solution Partners as sophisticated customers require services in which technology plays a key role. To meet these demands, Nova and <tauyou> have partnered in a collaboration that is developing language solutions with a clear focus on innovation. In this session, we will describe the methodology used to identify, develop and test new products and services, and our initial outcomes. Among these innovations, we will comment on Machine Translation and the development of an API to communicate Nova with the customers documentation (CMS, webs, social media, etc.), streamlining processes, lowering administrative burdens and expediting the delivery of services.]]>
