A marble powder as waste of marble processing is fine granules powder. Based on the chemical and physical properties, marble powder having a specific gravity of 2.79 can be an alternative additive in concrete. This studies aims to determine the possibility of marble powder used as partial replacement of cement in concrete with variations of silica fume. Chemical analysis is performed to determine the chemical composition of marble powder. To determine its the effect on concrete experiments design by 16 types of mixtures with a variety of marble powder and silica fume 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% in the water-cement ratio of 0.5. Superplasticizer with a low dosage of 0.5% used to improve workability. The behavior of fresh concrete calculated and the mechanical properties of concrete were tested on concrete age of 28 days. Chemical analysis showed the marble powder main composition is Silicon dioxide (SiO2) 17.63% and Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) 2.73%. Based on the physical and chemical analysis showed marble powder used as fillers more precise than used as partial replacement of cement. The experimental results showed the optimum mechanical properties of concrete produced by 5% marble powder and 6.22% silica fume provided compressive strength 29.04 MPa.
