For years, I have been an avid organic gardener, turning our yard into a mini-urban homestead -- growing raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, apples and a meaningful kitchen garden, with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions, radishes, herbs, carrots, asparagus, eggplant, broccoli, cabbage and more. A few years ago, we expanded into a neighborhood community garden, which allowed us to add corn, pumpkins, squashes, beans, artichokes, and potatoes.
