I was born in Nottingham in Eastwood and have lived in the same house all my life. My mother was a maths teacher and then a researcher and insurance seller but what she will do when she grows up I will never know. My dad was a woodwork teacher and is now a boiler inspector specialising in historical pieces. He has voulenteered for many years at Papplewick Pumping station and going there on my sundays when I wasn't dancing most probably gave me the engineering bug. I still like to return there when i can to help out, the last time going down the underside of a boiler with an industrial vacuumm cleaner... I also have a sister four years my junior.
