I have peeled potatoes, carried trays, waited upon, checked-in groups, and cussed cash registers; but hotels and restaurants mean more to me now than just hard work and a chance to make money. Now they mean quality service practices, public relations, management and leadership.
I have an extensive international career in the hospitality industry. My involvement in the industry began in the Middle East almost two decades ago working in a boutique hotel. I then joined international hotel company, IHG, and was involved in the pre-opening & opening stages of a hotel and a ski resort, where I gained considerable operational experience, in pre-opening & operational hotels.
