 Now, our society is focused 
on time. 
 Things need to be fast and 
convenient. 
 Relationships have been put 
on the back burner. 
 Health and nutrition are not 
as impor tant.
DO SOMETHING 
 It is up to us to change our 
attitudes. 
 We need to cook and eat 
together as fami lies at the 
dinner table. 
We need to put ef for t in 
promoting strong fami ly bonds 
and conversation. 
 There are so many benefits of 
fami ly meals, we just need to 
make that our priority.
TAKING THE TIME 
 Here is a sample of some of my writings on the issue of fami ly 
meals.
THI S WE EK S READING WAS INT ERE S T ING TO 
ME, BECAUSE IT IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE 
MESSAGE I TRY TO SHARE WITH OTHERS ON MY 
BLOG. LIKE MIRIAM WEINSTEIN, I FULLY 
BELIEVE IN TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE FOOD 
AND COOKING MY OWN MEALS. IN THE END, IT 
MAY NOT LOOK COMMERCIAL WORTHY, BUT 
HOMEMADE FOODS ARE MORE SATISFYING, 
MORE NUTRITIOUS, AND USUALLY BETTER 
TASTING THAT SOMETHING THAT YOU BUY AT A 
STORE OR FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT. THIS 
PAPER WILL DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF 
MAKING YOUR OWN MEALS.
IN THIS DAY IN AGE, THERE IS THE PRESSURE OF CONTINUALLY 
WORKING AND NOT SPENDING A LOT OF TIME ON ONE THING. SO, 
COOKING AND FAMILY MEALS HAVE BEEN PUSHED ON THE BACK 
BURNER. THERE ARE LESS PEOPLE WHO SPEND TIME COOKING OR 
C R E AT I N G M O M E N T S F O R FA M I LY B O N D I N G .  I N C R E A S I N G LY, 
THOUGH, PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE IN THE MINORITY. FOR SOME 
REASON, WE ACT AS IF THESE HOMEY SKILLS WERE EITHER TOO 
HIGH ABOVE US OR TOO FAR BELOW US; TOO DIFFICULT TO 
MASTER EVEN AS THEY ARE TOO BORING TO EVEN MERIT OUR 
CONSIDERATION. WE DEVALUE THE COMPETENT HOME COOK

NEW SKILLS, PREPARE THEIR KITCHEN TO BE ABLE TO COOK, 
AND TO PRACTICE. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT LEARNING 
HOW TO COOK IS ESSENTIAL. IT HELPS PEOPLE LEARN NEW 
SKILLS, PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILY, GIVE NUTRITIONALLY 
RICH FOODS TO THOSE YOU LOVE, AND IT CAN BE VERY FUN. 
IF PEOPLE TOOK THE TIME TO COOK TOGETHER AND HAVE 
FAMILY MEALS TOGETHER, THERE WOULD BE SO MANY 
BENEFITS; IT NEEDS TO BECOME A PRIORITY IN FAMILIES.

Family Meals

  • 2. THEN In the early 20th century, there was a greater emphasis on fami lies. Fami ly ate healthy meals together They created stronger bonds through teamwork and conversation
  • 3. NOW Now, our society is focused on time. Things need to be fast and convenient. Relationships have been put on the back burner. Health and nutrition are not as impor tant.
  • 4. DO SOMETHING It is up to us to change our attitudes. We need to cook and eat together as fami lies at the dinner table. We need to put ef for t in promoting strong fami ly bonds and conversation. There are so many benefits of fami ly meals, we just need to make that our priority.
  • 5. TAKING THE TIME Here is a sample of some of my writings on the issue of fami ly meals.
  • 6. THI S WE EK S READING WAS INT ERE S T ING TO ME, BECAUSE IT IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE MESSAGE I TRY TO SHARE WITH OTHERS ON MY BLOG. LIKE MIRIAM WEINSTEIN, I FULLY BELIEVE IN TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE FOOD AND COOKING MY OWN MEALS. IN THE END, IT MAY NOT LOOK COMMERCIAL WORTHY, BUT HOMEMADE FOODS ARE MORE SATISFYING, MORE NUTRITIOUS, AND USUALLY BETTER TASTING THAT SOMETHING THAT YOU BUY AT A STORE OR FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT. THIS PAPER WILL DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING YOUR OWN MEALS.
  • 7. IN THIS DAY IN AGE, THERE IS THE PRESSURE OF CONTINUALLY WORKING AND NOT SPENDING A LOT OF TIME ON ONE THING. SO, COOKING AND FAMILY MEALS HAVE BEEN PUSHED ON THE BACK BURNER. THERE ARE LESS PEOPLE WHO SPEND TIME COOKING OR C R E AT I N G M O M E N T S F O R FA M I LY B O N D I N G . I N C R E A S I N G LY, THOUGH, PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE IN THE MINORITY. FOR SOME REASON, WE ACT AS IF THESE HOMEY SKILLS WERE EITHER TOO HIGH ABOVE US OR TOO FAR BELOW US; TOO DIFFICULT TO MASTER EVEN AS THEY ARE TOO BORING TO EVEN MERIT OUR CONSIDERATION.   • 9. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN NEW SKILLS, PREPARE THEIR KITCHEN TO BE ABLE TO COOK, AND TO PRACTICE. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT LEARNING HOW TO COOK IS ESSENTIAL. IT HELPS PEOPLE LEARN NEW SKILLS, PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILY, GIVE NUTRITIONALLY RICH FOODS TO THOSE YOU LOVE, AND IT CAN BE VERY FUN. IF PEOPLE TOOK THE TIME TO COOK TOGETHER AND HAVE FAMILY MEALS TOGETHER, THERE WOULD BE SO MANY BENEFITS; IT NEEDS TO BECOME A PRIORITY IN FAMILIES.
