I grew up in Silver Spring, MD, went to college in Wilson, NC at Barton College. I was a nursing major for 2 1/2 years but decided to change my major to Elementary Education. After an extra year because of switching majors I moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I taught 1st grade for 4 years and 2nd grade for 2 years. I moved to the wonderful OBX in June of 2009 and am now teaching 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies in Cape Hatteras. I am loving life on these little islands:)
