Hypothesis Results
 Barcodes saved time in registering
beneficiaries,
 Barcodes save time in validating
beneficiaries
Barcodes reduce time needed in paying
venders

www.crs.orgGive hope to a world of need
Assumption Results
 Voucher more accurately and efficiently
calculated
Barcode and scanner system can be easily
used and accepted
Equipment was robust enough to continue
to work effectively with limited
maintenance
www.crs.orgGive hope to a world of need
What to improve
Be able to check data daily to correct for errors.
 Picture when scanned for identification.
Develop upload/download mechanism such as a
hot spot so iPods can be synced immediately.
Either find a fix for the iPods when scanning
vouchers or purchase a couple of hand-held,
wireless scanners from which the information
then could be entered in the iPod.

Editor's Notes

  • #8: GPS: Their home is identified using a GPS coordinates (CRS HQ +39.291933,-76.619161) These GPS coordinates can then be placed on a map so we know where all of our beneficiaries are located. Barcode:A barcode is made using any geographic divisions needed by the project. My example below is broken down by: State (Maryland is the 7th state to enter the Union), Size of town (Baltimore is the largest town so is 1st by population), Neighborhoods (Baltimore has 9 distinct neighborhoods), GPS coordinates using only the last three numbers of the latitude and longitude.
