Course
Description: This course provides a field experience & involvement in scaling a real Israeli start-up.
During the course, teams of students will deal with current real business issue from a real
Israeli start up, usually a company with an international & technological orientation.
The teams will provide a business solution based on comprehensive examination of all
parameters relevant to that issue.
At the end of the course, students will submit a written summary of their work and finding that
will include the practical solution proposed. The conclusions will be presented at the end of
the course to the senior management of the company.
Written presentation and document will be submitted two weeks later.
Participation in the course will allow students to try and implement some of the knowledge
gained in their entire MBA along with the experience accumulated during their professional
day job
The course will consist of two parts: theoretical and practical.
The theoretical part will be relatively small and will include two or three lectures.
The practical part will include:
 One hour group meeting every two weeks in which the teams will present their findings
and receive feedback from the instructor.
 Team work according to tasks determined in those individual group meetings

Course
Objectives
1. To briefly introduce the opportunities, challenges & practices of a startup creating business
innovation, far away from the main global markets, that wants to expand in foreign markets,
along with the basic principles of business advice giving.
2. To provide a field experience in planning and managing a business process in a startup by
executing a field work and dealing with entrepreneurs/senior management and various
business challenges
3. To create a real value to the company and its entrepreneurs/mangers which are investing
their money & time for this project and by that to create great reputation for Recanati MBA
school
Teaching
Style: Theory and practice of practical entrepreneurship will be investigated through lecture/class
discussion and bi-weekly project group meeting. Groups of 4-5 students will receive a project
(company) and will receive a bi-weekly assignment to be presented every two weeks.

Details on the grade components follow below:
Group assignments & bi-weekly group presentations:
The project will break down into four bi-weekly presentations.
Each presentation will be led by different group members in a format specified on the
assignment page provided every two weeks
Classroom Etiquette and Class Participation:
Class discussion/ participation are an important element of this course and the overall
learning experience. Both your colleagues and the instructor WANT TO HEAR what you
think about the subjects being discussed in this class
All students are expected to fully comply with an appropriate Code of Classroom Etiquette
You are expected to attend all classes. If you have to miss class for any reason, please
notify the instructor by e-mail at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the session.
Missing class does not help your grade and detracts from the learning experience of other
students who are planning to benefit from the experiences/ class participation of their
colleagues.
By design, much of the learning in this course comes from class discussion. Your classroom
participation grade will be based on attendance, preparation, familiarity with the reading
materials, and the quality of your contribution.

deliverables for the assignments and exams in this course.
