Sakthivell has been involved in Peace building and reconciliation efforts as Facilitator, Mentor, Program Development expert as well as Coach for last fifteen years in Sri Lanka . He was trained by Karuna Centre for Peace Building- USA during 2003 to 2005 and also participated in International Conferences representing Sri Lanka . He participated in Tallberg Forum 2005 in Sweden and also LOCAL REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO OVERCOME POVERTY IN ASIA- 2006 in Laos and try to develop models to build Peace though employment creation in Large scale Industries , Self-employment and Innovative Sector Development activities in post conflict areas of Sri Lanka.
