Grew up in a safe little neighborhood by Kearsley Lake in Flint, Michigan. Neighbors were our extended family. Attended school in an age when the "hoods" were the kids who gathered across the corner froom the school and smoked tobacco cigarettes. Sunday was the day for Sunday School and church, Chicken and mashed potatoes and spinach (really!) and youth group in the evening. TV... 3 channels, but always something good to watch. Family was just that... didn't always agree with each other, but sure did love being together..... because we were "family."
