NIST aims to accelerate the US government's adoption of secure cloud computing through standards development and guidance. NIST will define priority use cases, a reference architecture, and requirements to develop a Cloud Computing Standards Roadmap. This will identify standardization needs and priorities to guide both NIST's tactical efforts like submissions to standards bodies, and the work of other organizations. NIST is taking a collaborative approach, engaging stakeholders from government, industry and standards groups through workshops and working groups to develop the roadmap over the next year. The roadmap will translate requirements into specific standardization recommendations and priorities to support secure and interoperable cloud computing adoption across the public sector.
