I had been a practicing Civil Engineer for 14 years until I decided to build on my growing interest in IT and applied for a secondment in IT 4 years ago and I鈥檝e not looked back. It may seem on the face of it that there are few similarities but I firmly believe the mind-set needed for both disciplines 鈥� creativity, precision, an eye for detail and needing to be able to understand your client鈥檚 needs 鈥� is more alike than you think. I still find myself drawing on my engineering background to help me with my day to day decisions.
