After graduating with a BS in Special Education in 1991, I taught in a variety of settings in rural and suburban parts of Virginia. I moved to Rochester, NY in 1996 and worked for the city in a self-contained setting. My six students were all diagnosed with a severe learning disability and emotional disturbance. After two years, I decided to return to school for my Master's degree and focsed on behavioral problems. In 1999, I completed my degree and moved to a warmer climate in Charlotte, NC.
