My name is Mike, and I hail from the "ground-zero" Lyme Disease area of the Southern Connecticut shoreline. I've very likely contended with living with Lyme for my entire life, as my own father suffered from several of the typical symptoms (primarily Bell's Palsy, tachycardia, and refractory major depression in his case) in the 1950s, and Lyme Disease is nearly always passed on to children at birth from an infected parent.
I spent many years in the general Old Lyme, Connecticut area where much of the history of this "mystery disease" started, and personally know several of the families that were affected in the original 1975 outbreak.
