Past experience is a friend, asset and a guide if one is receptive to the changes & demands occurring in the environment around us, willing to sense new opportunities and open to learn new skills through new experiences. It need not be a transformational jump to the new always but could be a continuous journey of incremental learning and improvement. In that sense, I emphasize more on 'direction of change' than 'speed of change' though latter is important as well.
