TEAM Malaysia is conducting two case studies as part of InterPARES 3 in Asia to develop preservation policies and procedures for electronic records in Malaysia. Case Study 1 focuses on primary research data and records held by research institutions. It involves reviewing literature, conducting surveys and interviews, analyzing the data, and validating a theoretical framework for a Malaysian preservation policy. Key milestones and dates are provided. Issues emerging from Case Study 1 include confidentiality, digital records management, roles and responsibilities. Suggested solutions include guidelines, training, systems improvements, and additional resources. The next step is to analyze the UK Data Archives practices in Phase 1 of the case study.
