Battle space refers to all aspects of air, surface, sub-surface, land, space, and the electro-magnetic spectrum that encompass the area of operations. It includes the entire region where military operations can be conducted and is not limited to areas occupied by friendly or enemy forces. Battle space provides commanders with a common framework for visualizing and understanding operations.
