Work can be considered worship only when one centers their life around Krishna and offers the fruits of their labor to him. Some people work excessively like animals just to gain material profits but forget about God, who should be the ultimate goal. A monk tells a greedy man who brags about being renounced that he is actually more renounced since he has given up God himself in pursuit of wealth, which will eventually be taken by time anyway. The key lesson is that we should make Krishna the top priority before anything else.

You can know Krishna only by hearing from Krishna
Lesson-03
SOME PEOPLE WORK SO HARD. IS IT TRUE THAT WORK
IS WORSHIP?
Yes. But the work is worship only when we put Krishna
in the center of our life and offer results of our work to
Him. Definitely, one has to work in order to maintain
himself and his family but the excess of ones earnings
should be used in serving Krishna and in spreading
knowledge of Krishna. But some peoplein this world
work hard just like an ass, day and night. They do it to
attain different material profits but in doing that they
forget about God, who is the main goal for all living
entities.
You are more renounced
One such greedy fellow meets one monk (or sannyasi).
Greedy fellow: You are such a renouncedperson.
Sannyasi: No. You are more renounced than me.
Greedy fellow (surprised): How come?
2. Sannyasi: I have just given up the wealth of this world,
which will anyway finish by the power of time. So this
detachment is very insignificant. But look at you. You
have given up God Himself. So you must be millions of
times more renouncedthan me.
The greedy fellow then puts his head down out of shame.
MORAL: We shouldgivepriorityto Krishna before
anythingelse.
