1. This media series is about music and media, a form of entertainment everyone can appreciate, whether it be playing music or simply enjoy it by listening. Music can be used to express feelings of emotion or an idea, or even tell a story in a creative way. Music is one of the biggest markets in the whole world. Music&Media
4. Multimedia and technology have added a lot of effect into music. Technology has added new ways of recording music such as analog recording (using acoustics sound waves) and digital recording, which is a form of digitization allowing music and data to be stored in many more ways then through normal recording. With the creation of this disc phonograph, discs became the premier commercial recording format, and were much better then previous cylinder (which it replaced). Electrical recording then came about with the use of microphones and speakers, followed by digital recording, such as compact discs and the MP3 players we all use today.
6. Changes in Music Over Time Throughout time music has gone through drastic changes in terms of media and production. With changes in style over time, there was a shift in the type of musicians people enjoyed listening to. With the expansion of media and music production, the world was able to see a wide variety of different music then one would be used to. With recording tools, sound mixers and things like computers, a wider generation of hip-hop, rap and contemporary R&B was created, leaving older, classical music in the past (but still not forgotten). This technological music has taken over today and is the most prominent in music and media culture.
7. Music Types Major types of music include: Metal , Punk , Rap , Jazz , Hip Hop , Pop . Hard Rock , Alternative , Experimental , Latin , Country , Disco, Funk, Classical , Blues , Progressive , Techno , Ska , and Reggae. All these types however, branch out into many smaller categories of music.
