The Siberian International Marathon has been held annually in Omsk, Russia since 1990, usually in early August but moved to September in 2013 due to weather. It has grown significantly over the years to attract over 11,000 runners from 16 countries and 19 Russian regions at its 25th running in 2014.

3. The marathon took place on the first Saturday of
August.
The race date was moved forward a week in 2012 so
that the start time exactly coincided with that of the
Olympic men’s marathon held in London.
In 2013 it was decided to hold a marathon in September
because of the weather conditions.
