The battalion was part of an infantry brigade deployed at Sulaimanke Headworks during the 1965 war with India. It saw little serious action as it primarily engaged Indian border police posts that were no match for regular Pakistani army battalions. The battalion suffered only 3 fatal casualties for the entire war, showing it faced little militarily credible opposition. While the battalion performed well, it must be remembered that it faced inferior Indian border police rather than other army units.

The battalion suffered only three 1
fatal casualties in
whole of 1965 war which clearly proves that it hardly
faced any militarily credible adversary.
The battalion lost no officer killed in war.
The battalion performed outstandingly in war . However it
must be remembered that it faced only Indian border
police troops which were significantly inferior to Pakistan
Army regular infantry battalions.
The battalion was lavishly awarded gallantry awards
because the infantry brigade commander was known to
be heavily biased in favour of Punjab regiment and
extremely biased against Baluch regiment !

Pakistani victory or success in Sulaimanke keeping in view
the relative numerical balance of forces between Pakistan
and India was a foregone conclusion.
Seen in this context Sulaimanke was a backwater in the
Indo Pak war of 1965 and the battle had no strategic
impact on the outcome of 1965 war.

10 Punjab fought outstandingly . If it was not pitched
against a regular infantry battalion , it was due to no fault
of the battalion , but a part of what we call destiny !
