According to safety guidelines from the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers, there are 10 questions that should be addressed before conducting any lifting or hoisting to ensure it is done safely: these include verifying that all involved understand lifting procedures, have received safety briefings, inspecting equipment for certification and working order, designating a lift supervisor, confirming all are competent and aware of tasks, having an approved lift plan, and establishing clear communication.
