This document traces the history of leather fashion over 100 years, from 1900 to 1990. It highlights several significant eras and trends that influenced the popularization and styling of leather items like jackets, shoes, and accessories. These include the early 20th century rise of aviator jackets and Egyptian-inspired leather shoes, the restrictions on leather during WWII, and the embrace of leather by several youth subcultures in subsequent decades like Teddy Boys, punks, metalheads, and Grunge fans. Famous films from each era are also noted for promoting iconic leather looks that were widely adopted.
