Product development and Design Product development and design comes about from consultation with the customer. Only once YEP have established the customers requirements and scope of supply YEP will make some recommendations. Before each project we make a list of requirements in close cooperation with the customer. The what works in practice based knowledge of YEP results in practical solutions for complicated questions and therefore easy to built products. YEP uses newest 3D software. Before production we can show 3D models of the product and we can present moving presentations to the customer and end-user. We are constantly reviewing all developments in the market therefore we can advice on the use of the newest techniques and material. The quality of our designs and products are developed at least according to the Lloyd卒s demands for equivalent products. We also arrange approvals by the classification offices like Lloyds, Norske Veritas, ABS and Germanischer Lloyd. Foldable navigation mast 2
Engineering By using the latest 3D software we show the customer and end-user clear construction visualizations and moving presentations before production. YEP works with detailed drawings. Hydraulic hosing and electric wiring are incorporated entirely in the design including the assembly points and connections (see picture below). This reduces the production costs by shortening the time to market at production and assembly. Before production starts critical components are analyzed with the use of the most sophisticated finite elements software. Because of this we save weight without losing sufficient stiffness and stability. In the modeling phase our calculations are based as a minimum on meeting or exceeding the specification of the demands made by Lloyd卒s. Our design software provides 3D files which can be shared directly with the most sophisticated cutting and machining equipment, This shortens the set-up time and therefore it saves costs by shortening the time to market. 3
Engineering example Hatlapa Duopac steering gear Development and design of a new compact plug and play steering unit. This unit is designed for a rudder torque between 40kNm and 220kNm. For the first units YEP also did the project management and realization including the full type approval by Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd. Project management Conducted by a tightly directed project management team, YEP ensures a fast and efficient project. Foremost is the program of requirements, established in consultation with the customer. YEP: Has detailed knowledge of the possibilities and problems in all the production processes. Uses a trusted network of high standard, specialized subcontractors. Identifies at an early stage possible sticking points through our own practical experience in all the processes. Compact overhead beam crane On multiple requests we designed a stainless beam crane (weight 賊 350KG) which would take a very small height for mounting. Beam thickness 92mm, required mounting height 108mm and from ceiling to hook in highest position 155mm. All main characteristics may be changed according to clients wishes. Mooring and Anchoring Anchorwinches en capstans Full stainless anchor winches from 13mm shortlink up to 32mm studlink chain. Chain compressors YEP bv delivers stainless chain stoppers and compressors. For the compressors we design the custom foundations according the deck shape, chain pipes and regarding the customers special design requests. Chains and anchors German made, calibrated, certified anchors and chain. 8
Cleats, hand and foot rail Our stainless cleats are available as investment casted version or fully 3D machined from massive stainless. (We deliver common models to) On special request we also deliver machined titanium cleats. Due to requests from the marked since 2011 also as anodized aluminium The benefits of the 3D machining are guaranteed clean material without chance of casting faults, rust and a very straight and smooth surface after polishing. Since 2011 also as anodized aluminium. It is also possible to create your own special designed cleats. (only 3D machined) Advanced options like a weld plate, Tufnol isolation washers and seals are available.
