MOPZ (Maintenance Optimizer)
Sap restricted the market place access to the customers, but customers are
able to apply support packages, notes, add-ons using other ids.
SAP Implemented Maintenance Optimizer is used for downloading patches,
support packages, add-ons, kernel upgrade only through (MOPZ),but MOPZ
is only used for Approval of Software/Packages and the download is
performed using SAP Download Manager.
SAP Implemented Maintenance Certificate from January 2009. It is valid for 3
months only. SAP Solution Manager generates maintenance certificates to all
the satellite systems which will be valid for three months only and renewed
based on Support (Enterprise/Standard).
Customers without Maintenance Certificate are not allowed to use
SPAM/SAINT and JSPM. (Precisely they are locked)
Note: (All corrective software packages for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and SAP
Business Suite 2005 (and beyond) are only available via Maintenance
Optimizer in SAP Solution Manager. Find more details here)
Maintenance Optimizer (refer to note 1024932)
It is part of Change Management to compare the current system with the
available patches/updates on the sap market place. It is possible to add the
software required for the system.
Maintenance Strategy: SAP provides two types of maintenance Strategy
one for old and the other for one new customers.
? Standard Support:
SAP Maintenance Strategy is 5-1-2 i.e each sap product comes with 5 years
enterprise support for a fees of 17% on Total Cost of SAP Software as AMC
(Annual Maintenance Contract) or SLA (Service Level Agreement).
6th Year Extended Maintenance for 17+2%
7th and 8th Year Additional Maintenance 17+4%
After 8th year Customer maintenance 17+4%
This Support is referred as STANDARD SUPPORT
? Enterprise Support:
SAP Introduced ENTERPRISE SUPPORT 7-2 who will benefit all the features
of Solution Manager by paying 22% for Seven Years and 22%+2 for next two
years.

Activating the Maintenance Optimizer

Click on Activate

Check BC Set Consistency

Login to SAP market place and add the packages to download manager.

Login to the solution manager system and set the SAP USER ID and SAP
Market Place ID in transaction code “AISUSER”

Click New Entries Button and Define the User name and SAP S-USERID.

Then press Save Button
Execute the Transaction Code “DSWP”

Select Solution

Click on Create New Maintenance Transaction

Select the either Maintenance for Applying Support Packages or
Patches/Support Stacks
Select Enhancement Package Installation for Upgrading the Current System
In both the case SAP Will provide a menu to select based on OS and DB.

Select the OS/DB Dependent Files such as Kernel, IGS, and KERNEL_DB.
Select SPAM and SAINT Version, ABAP, BASIS, PI_BASIS, SAP_BW etc…

The Selected Packages are added to the Download basket and available for
Download,
Download the Packages using SAP Download manager and Implement them
manually using SPAM/SAINT/JSPM

Click on Download files from Download basket to usrsaptransEPSin
The Stack Delta XML file is mandatory for Upgrades and EHP.

Scenario-2:
EXECUTE THE TRANSACTION CODE “DSWP”

Select the Solution

Navigate to Operations change Management Create New Maintenance transaction

Select the Solution and the product Version

Click on continue

Select the option “select Files Manually” Click on Continue

Click on continue

Select the option “confirm files in the download Basket”

If you see in the above picture the Support package is in the approval list

Select the package and click on “ok”

Click on option “withdraw”

Again if you check in the download basket it is available for download now.
