Robert Fogarty is the director of Evacuteer.org, an organization that works to ensure 30,000 New Orleans residents without transportation have evacuation options during storms. Through a street performance experiment called the Real Bucket Challenge, Fogarty and volunteers raised $173.28 which they aim to turn into $30,000 online to fund public art that serves as neighborhood evacuation meeting points. The performance involved body painting, panhandling, and attracted 130 donors, highlighting the lack of evacuation access for over a third of New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina.
